Car rental agreement

Only the individual(s) named on the rental agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle. Every authorized driver must hold a valid, unrestricted driver's licence issued by the appropriate licensing authority for the whole rental period.

The vehicle shall not be used for any illegal purpose, including the transportation of contraband substances.

The vehicle shall not be used in any race, speed test, contest or reckless driving activity.

The vehicle shall not be used in any manner that violates traffic laws or regulations. The renter is solely responsible for all fines, penalties, tolls and traffic or parking violations incurred during the rental period.

Fuel costs are covered by the renter.

The renter is obligated to keep the vehicle in excellent condition and clean at all times. Failure to comply may result in additional charges, penalties, or immediate termination of the rental agreement, including repossession of the vehicle.

To the extent permitted by law, the renter carries the risk of theft, damage, loss or destruction of the vehicle from any and every cause. If the vehicle is damaged while in the renter's possession, the renter agrees to pay all costs of repair, up to the current value of the vehicle. If the vehicle is lost while in the renter's possession, the renter agrees to pay the owner its current value.

The vehicle is covered under basic insurance. The renter is responsible for any excess or for damages not covered by the insurance.

If the vehicle is returned after the date and time the rental period ends, the renter agrees to pay the owner a late charge for each day beyond the end of the rental period, until the vehicle is returned. The owner may deduct these charges from the security deposit.

All vehicles are fitted with tracking devices. Travelling with any vehicle to the provinces or outside The Gambia without prior written consent from Easy Ride Rental is strictly prohibited. In the event of a violation the vehicle will be retrieved immediately and no refund will be issued.

In addition to the rental fees and any late return charges, the renter agrees to pay a security deposit at the time the rental agreement is signed. The owner may use this deposit to cover any amounts due under the agreement.

The agreement terminates on the end date stated in the booking. Vehicle details (make, year, colour, plate number), the guarantee provided, and any intended upcountry or cross-border travel are recorded on the signed agreement at handover.
